To make these works, I built my own tapestry looms using salvaged lumber and plied and dyed rope using a cast-iron rope machine from 1901 and plant-based dyes. The works were intended to conjure resilience and expand the capacity of the loom. They were created in an intuitive, deeply personal process that embraced the unknown as a collaborator and reflected on my experiences of inhabiting a complicated and unreliable body.
