Fogsong was produced as a site-specific work for the Guard House at LISBETH, a gallery located inside of Sophien II Cemetery in Berlin. This work was created during my residency at the Headlands Center for the Arts and explores “fog” as liminal space in which seeing must yield to other forms of sensing, a space of uncertainty, of softness and of imagination, a space in which we might connect to other worlds.
Fogsong’s sound piece blends the voices of the Davis Threshold Singers, a local end-of-life choir in Davis California with which I have been affiliated since 2022, with found and field recordings of the ocean collected around the Marin Headlands.
